Ajay Devgn took approval from Mohanlal before “Drishyam 3”? Deets inside
The excitement around Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion has reached a new level. For all those who do not know this, but there is an interesting Mohanlal connection that fans of the franchise will want to know about. Ahead of the film’s release, Ajay Devgn revealed that he personally reached out to Malayalam superstar Mohanlal because he wanted him to watch the film and share his approval.
Ajay Devgn recently interacted with an entertainment and report portal where he shared some interesting deets about his upcoming movie “Drishyam 3”. He said, “In fact, I called up Lal (Mohanlal) sir, not him, because I wanted him to see the film. Like he (Alok Jain) said that they do such a great job, and this time we have deviated completely. So, for me, I thought that a kind of an approval from him would be nice. I wanted him to see the film but he is on holiday. It is very sweet that he kept interacting. I think he is going to watch the film soon there. It is the conclusion also because I feel that it is very difficult to write a Drishyam. We want to end it on a high, and the way the script has shaped up, the film has shaped up, I think we should put a stop right now. I saw the film yesterday, and my personal opinion is that it beats 2 (Drishyam 2). It’s not very easy to write. Like I said, your writers and directors are limited.” According to Ajay, since the Hindi film has “diverted completely” from the Malayalam storyline, Mohanlal’s reaction would mean a lot to him.
What makes this development even more interesting is that “Drishyam: The Conclusion” is not a remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam “Drishyam 3”. Ajay has repeatedly stressed that the Hindi film has an entirely new script and follows a different narrative. The team reportedly spent nearly two years developing the story and worked through multiple scripts before arriving at the final version.
The challenge was to continue Vijay Salgaonkar’s story without simply creating another murder mystery. The makers wanted the film to retain the suspense, twists and unpredictability that audiences associate with Drishyam, while taking the story forward in its own direction.
Ajay has also revealed that the third instalment is intended to be the final chapter of the Hindi franchise. After watching the finished film, he shared his personal opinion that it surpasses Drishyam 2, while admitting that writing a Drishyam film is far from easy.
When is “Drishyam: The Conclusion” releasing?
Drishyam 3 (The Conclusion) is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 2, 2026. So stay tuned, because this time, the game is going to be like never before!
