Choreographer Vijay Ganguly shares story behind Akshaye Khanna`s Dhurandhar dance
Ever since Akshaye Khanna delivered a flawless performance in Dhurandhar, fans and moviegoers cannot stop talking about how he made every scene magnetic. Open your Instagram, and he is all over your feed with the viral entry sequence.
The actor has been immensely praised for his performance as the menacing Rehman Dakait in Aditya Dhar`s directorial. Some even say he overshadowed Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt.
With his viral entry song, FA9LA by Bahraini rapper Flipperachi, choreographer Vijay Ganguly shares how Akshaye was only supposed to sit throughout the song. The dance bit was an impromptu decision while he was struggling with health issues.

Ganguly, who choreographed the sequence, shared some interesting behind-the-scenes with Mid-day and said, “The song is a celebration of Akshaye’s character being crowned as the Sher-E-Baloch. Originally, he was supposed to enter, walk through the dancers, and sit on the throne."

"Seeing the scene’s mood and the dancers’ performance, the fantastic actor that Akshaye is, he said he would dance a bit when he walks in. None of us knew what he was going to do. Akshaye entered the scene, took it from that point, and spontaneously performed,” he added.

Even the choreographer was surprised at how the FA9LA sequence was shot in just two hours in Ladakh. Crediting Khanna`s precision, Vijay said, “It was the first shot we took that day, and it was perfect. Then we did a close-up, and we were done. Akshaye knows exactly what he has to do in a scene and plays with it.”
Shooting in the high altitudes of Ladakh is tough; dancing is even more so. Vijay Ganguly shares that Akshaye Khanna gave an incredible shot despite suffering from high-altitude sickness.
“Akshaye would carry a small oxygen cylinder with him. When we were shooting this song, his oxygen level had dropped. So, after every shot, he would put the oxygen mask on. He did the sequence unflinchingly and then went home,” he revealed.
Social media users are drawing parallels between Akshaye Khanna`s FA9LA and Bobby Deol`s entry song `Jamal Kuddu` in the film Animal.
