Chandu Champion Trailer Release: Kartik Aaryan`s Versatility and Talent Shines Through
The makers of Chandu Champion released the trailer for the highly anticipated upcoming film. The film stars Katik Aaryan in the lead role, playing Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. The 3-minute trailer showcases Kartik Aryan as a soldier, a wrestler, and a boxer. The trailer just goes on to show how much effort the actor has put into this character, effortlessly portraying every persona.
“This is an unbelievable tale of a man who faced one adversary after another with an undying spirit. His unwavering zeal and never-give-up attitude led to creating history,” read the description of the trailer on YouTube.
The trailer begins in the Indo-Pakistan war of 1965, where the story’s protagonist, Murlikant Petkar, suffers from several bullet injuries. Despite the fatal wounds, he miraculously manages to survive for two years in a coma. Once he wakes up, we see a montage of his childhood, where the young Murlikant aspired to be an Olympic winner.
From there on, we see how he trains himself to become a wrestler and, eventually, a boxer. Against all odds, he goes on to become India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. The real Murlikant Petkar won his first gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland in 1970. Two years later, he won again at the Paralympics in Germany.

Taking to his Instagram handle, the director wrote a heartfelt post, saluting the actor’s efforts. He wrote, “The story of Chandu Champion is an incredibly inspiring true story, but the journey that Kartik went through to become this champion is no less inspiring. I met him when he had put on weight for a role. He had 39 percent body fat. I told him that he had to portray an international-level multi-disciplinary sportsperson. He just smiled and said, “I will do it, Sir”. A year and a half later, with no use of steroids—something that he was adamant about—we took this photo on set. Body fat 7 percent!! I’m proud of you, @kartikaaryan. #ChanduChampion releasing in cinemas on 14th June, 2024.”
