20 years of Dhoom
If there was one movie that revolutionized the action scene in Bollywood, it has to be Dhoom. The film also changed the way audiences perceived antagonists, thanks to John Abraham`s character, which influenced a whole lot of young boys in the early 2000s.
However, along with the leading men, it was Esha Deol who stole the show with her stunning performance as Sheena in the movie. Her dance sequences in the title track and Dilbara went on to become a cult classic.
While she had done many movies before, Dhoom kind of gave her career an extra push, making her the national crush of India. As the movie clocks in two decades of its release today, Esha Deol recalls receiving many proposals after the film`s release.
The movie went on to become a hit, and the makers later churned out its franchise in two parts. Esha, who was also a pivotal part of Dhoom, sat down for a casual chat with Filmibeat and revealed some interesting details about the movie.

When asked how she feels about Dhoom completing 20 years of its release, the actress said, "It feels great that Dhoom is celebrating 20 years today. But, I feel a little sad also because Sanjay Gadhvi, the director of the film, is not with us. So, I really miss him today, especially when Dhoom completes 20 years; he would have been ecstatic."
She also revealed some crazy fan experiences two decades ago when social media wasn`t a thing. Esha recalled many guys proposing to her after Dhoom was released.
"After Dhoom, there was an entire frenzy where a lot of guys had a crush on me, a lot of people proposed. It was very sweet and cute, and I am a young girl, so I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the attention I got. It was nice; it was fun. Even now on my social media, so many of them comment, `My first crush`, and I know they are relating to Dhoom," Deol added.
