Dhruv Rathee calls Aditya Dhar`s Dhurandhar "cheap"
The Dhurandhar trailer took the internet by storm, leaving fans jaw-dropped with the high-octane action, gory violence, and intense storytelling. Aditya Dhar has certainly not shied away from showcasing torture and blood in this visceral saga.
While fans applauded the trailer, not everybody loved it. Content creator and political commentator Dhruv Rathee has raised eyebrows with his recent opinion on Ranveer Singh`s spy action drama after he compared it with beheading videos shared by ISIS.
He even slammed director Aditya Dhar and allegedly accused him of "willingly poisoning the minds of the young generation."
Dhruv Rathee criticises the trailer for Dhurandhar
The content creator took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, hours after the makers dropped the much-awaited trailer.
He wrote, "Aditya Dhar has truly crossed a limit of cheapness in Bollywood. The extreme violence, gore and torture shown in his latest film trailer is the equivalent of watching ISIS beheadings and calling it “entertainment”.”

Further criticising the filmmaker, Rathee added, “His lust for money is so unhinged that he is willingly poisoning the minds of the young generation, desensitising them to gore and glorifying unimaginable torture.”
Dhruv Rathee went on to urge the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) to look into the film`s extreme violence. “This is the chance for the Censor Board to show if they have a bigger problem with people kissing or watching someone get skinned alive,” he concluded.
More about Dhurandhar
The upcoming action spy thriller will see Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt in prominent roles. The young actress Sara Arjun will also be seen playing Singh`s love interest.
Two spine-chilling action scenes, starring Rampal and Khanna, caught fans` attention where violence was undefined and boundaries were blurred with blood.
The internet, however, isn`t bothered by the gory violence. One fan urged, “To the Censor Board: Jaisa trailer me dikh raha hai ekdum waisa he theatre me bhi dikhna chahiye (We need to see it in theatre exactly how it is shown in the trailer). NO CUTS, NO BLURS.”
Another commended Shashwat Sachdev for the background score and added, “The energy, the darkness, the atmosphere… It feels like Shashwat just opened a new chapter in Indian music.”
Dhurandhar is slated to release on December 5 in cinemas near you.
