Gauhar Khan Slams Suniel Shetty For His C-Section Birth Comment

Suniel Shetty`s C-section birth comment upsets Gauhar Khan
While many Bollywood divas are embracing motherhood and becoming doting moms, there are some male actors who are attracting controversies for their bizarre comments. The irony is they know nothing about pregnancy, let alone the birthing process.
One such actor is Suniel Shetty, who sparked controversy with his C-section birth comment. In an interview, the actor opened up about his daughter Athiya Shetty`s journey to motherhood and said, "She chose normal delivery over the comfort of a C-section."
Now, this comment did not sit well with many, including actress Gauhar Khan. The Ishaqzaade actress, who is expecting her second child with Zaid Malik, slammed Shetty`s comment and expressed her frustration.
In her first episode of her new show, MaaaNoranjan, Gauhar said, “There was something said by a big personality recently—that C-section was an easier option. I mean, what? I want to scream at the top of my voice and ask, ‘How can you say that?’”

She busted some myths about C-section childbirth, particularly to those who have no firsthand experience. While the actress did not name any names, she challenged the presumption that it is an "easier" option.
“There are so many myths related to C-sections, one of them being that it is an easier option. I don’t know what to say. How can there be so much misinformation? And for a male celebrity to say that—someone who didn’t go through pregnancy, who didn’t carry a child, who doesn’t know how painful a C-section can actually be…” she said.
She further asserted that the choice of birth method is not always in a mother`s hands and said, "Let me just put this straight — having a normal delivery or a C-section is not in a woman’s hands. Some women can deliver normally, while some cannot — and that’s completely natural. If they are opting for a C-section, they are not choosing the easier route. That’s just a myth.”
“A lot of people ask me—mostly women—if I had a normal delivery or a C-section. I don’t know why this is such a big topic. Both are equally tough, and both give you the same feeling of motherhood. But let me just put this chatter to rest — I had a C-section when I gave birth to Zehaan,” Gauhar Khan concluded.
