When Imran Khan Took Therapy To Deal With Mental Health Issues
In a recent interview, ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ star Imran Khan has yet again opened up about his journey with regard to overcoming his mental health issues. The actor, who was last seen in the 2015 film ‘Katti Batti’ alongside Kangana Ranaut, has been on a long hiatus for the past nine years.
Talking about his struggle related to his highly competitive and draining profession, Imran Khan said that he sought therapy in 2017, following his exit from the silver screen.
The Delhi Belly actor is all set to make his comeback soon. While it is not confirmed yet, reports suggest he will be collaborating with his debut film`s director, Abbas Tyrewala.

While talking about his deteriorating mental health, the actor said that he didn’t have the energy to socialise in order to secure film contracts.
Somewhere, he also felt the need to overcome this feeling. Imran shared, “I felt damaged on the inside, and I wanted to fix that. If you pull a hamstring, you go to the physiotherapist. You don’t feel good mentally? Seek therapy.”
Speaking about it, he said, “If you speak to someone who has given up an addiction or gone off alcohol, they could tell you the exact number of days they’ve been sober. It’s the same for me with my mental health. It’s been 2,500 days since I started my analysis on March 13, 2017.”

Back in September 2023, Imran had talked very candidly about going through depression and even committing self-harm for the first time. The actor shared a post on Instagram going into detail about his mental health to update his fans and thanking them for their constant love and support.
He wrote, “We all have scars, old wounds that still ache. But love heals. Love is empowering and uplifting, and if you are fortunate enough to receive the kind of love that I have, I think it starts to fill in those scars. It covers you with a layer of protective armour. You may never fully grasp the extent to which your love empowers me, but know that I am grateful."
