Jailer 2 trailer out now: Rajinikanth’s Tiger is ready to roar again
The wait is finally over for fans of Superstar Rajinikanth! The supremely-awaited trailer of "Jailer 2" has been released, and it promises to take the larger-than-life world of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian to an even bigger scale. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel brings back Rajinikanth in his beloved avatar while raising the stakes with new enemies, fresh characters and plenty of action.
Rajinikanth once again steps into the shoes of Muthuvel Pandian, the retired jailer who may appear calm on the surface but is anything but ordinary. The trailer teases a more dangerous chapter for Tiger, as his peaceful life is disrupted and his past comes knocking once again. Interestingly, the character is seen living a quieter life and working as a driver.
What remains the same as the first part? Well, it is Thalaiva himself! From his commanding screen presence to his charming style and signature mass moments, the trailer makes it clear that Tiger Muthuvel Pandian still has plenty of fire left in him. What the trailer shows us is that the action sequences look bigger, while Nelson`s trademark humour continues to add a lighter edge to the high-stakes narrative.
What more to look forward to in “Jailer 2”?
SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty and Suraj Venjaramoodu join the world of Jailer, with several of their characters appearing to have crucial roles in Tiger`s new battle. Vidya Balan is making her Tamil debut with the film, while familiar faces including Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff and Shiva Rajkumar are also glimpsed in the trailer.
After the success of the first Jailer, expectations from its sequel have been sky-high, and the trailer appears determined to deliver the same combination of swagger, humour and explosive action that made the original such a crowd-pleaser. Prior to the release of the original film in 2023, Nelson expressed interest in making sequels to his films.
When is “Jailer 2” releasing?
The countdown to the theatrical release has officially begun. Jailer 2 is set to hit cinemas worldwide on October 15, 2026, giving fans just days to prepare for another big-screen Rajinikanth spectacle.
