When Janhvi Kapoor Got Candid About Her Mother Sridevi
A mother-daughter duo who will always be special to Bollywood is Sridevi and Janhvi Kapoor. The Devara actress lost her mother in 2018 after she was found drowned in a bathtub in Dubai
The diva fondly remembers her mother every time she goes to promote a film or even on a chat show like Koffee With Karan. Janhvi Kapoor will turn 27 this year. On her birthday, let`s look back to when the actress talked about her mother and why she would stop Sridevi from coming to the sets of Dhadak.
While talking about her mother, Janhvi called her ‘the best actor to come out of India.’ She felt that having such easy access to a talented actress may make people feel that she has it easier compared to others. Due to the same reasons, Janhvi refused her mother from coming to the sets of Dhadak and giving her any acting advice.

While sharing this, Janhvi said, “When I was doing my first film (Dhadak), I was so conscious that I wanted to stay aloof from my mother because people were saying that I got my first film because I am Sridevi`s daughter.”
She added, “I used to tell her to not come on the sets, to not help me. I used to feel as if I had an unfair advantage, a trump card, thinking, ‘How many people have access to Sridevi Kapoor, who is the best actor to come out of India?’ I used to feel that it’s already an unfair advantage; it will be more unfair if I take her advice.”
Janhvi said, “I am her daughter and can’t run away from it. I took people very seriously, and I regret now, knowing that she was dying to be on the set with me to help me as a mother. And I didn’t let her."

"So, I think it’s one of the biggest regrets because sometimes I feel like if I just said, `Mumma, I have a shoot, please come quickly.` Maybe she would have been there. I think I have come around to that. I am now very proud of being my parents’ daughter. If people want to have a moral debate on whether Janhvi Kapoor being Sridevi’s daughter is right or wrong, you can’t, because that’s the truth,” she further added.
This just goes on to show how dedicated and humble Janhvi Kapoor is, and wants to be recognized for her talent.
The birthday girl will be next seen in Murder Mubarak, an upcoming Netflix film starring Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma, and Karisma Kapoor.

After her mother’s death, Janhvi said that she regretted not seeing her mother as a mother but only as a superstar during her early acting days.
