With the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Indian celebrities are encouraging the common public to exercise their right to vote. One of them was Kannada actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty. The Kantara star shared a picture on social media after getting inked on May 7.
As the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections was scheduled for May 7, several Indian citizens lined up at the polling booths to vote for the new government. On May 7, it was the day for Karnataka to cast their vote.
Rishab Shetty shared a picture of himself after casting the vote and encouraged his fans to do the same.

Many celebrities and Indian actors have come together to encourage citizens to cast their votes this election season. Apart from Rishab, it was Bollywood couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D`Souza who were spotted in Maharashtra, as they actively participated in the voting process.
The two actors traveled from Mumbai to their hometown, Latur, to cast their votes. For the uninitiated, the Housefull actor is the son of the late Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vilasrao Deshmukh.
Highlighting the significance of voting, the Ved actress said, "This is an important day. Voting is important. Every citizen must go and cast their vote."
Adding to the conversation, Riteish said, "I came to Latur from Mumbai to cast my vote. Everyone should come out of their houses and cast votes. Today is an important day. Everyone should definitely vote."
Furthermore, many prominent celebrities from down south had already exercised their power to vote in the earlier stages of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Actors like Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Thalapathy Vijay, and Ajith Kumar, among others, cast their valuable votes.
Kantara was well received by the audience and proved to be a box-office blockbuster. The pan-Indian release went on to collect over 400 crores worldwide.

Speaking at an Amazon Prime event, Shetty revealed some interesting details about Kantara 2.
Recalling his dream of showcasing his folklore on the big screen, the actor said, “Humare gaon ka jo ek kahaani aur folklore leke aana chahiye bade screen pe—yeh ek dream tha. When I was in my second year of college, toh uss samay yeh kahani tha dimaag mein-mann mein."
"When I became a filmmaker, ek screenplay jaisa construct kiya. Shoot karne se pehle humara plan tha ki prequel ja raha hai. So, baad mein, jo logo ne, darshako ne itna bada support diya hai. Humare gaon mein bada set lagaya hai abhi. Next mahine hum log shoot jaa rahe hai," he further added.
Kanrata 2 is scheduled to be released by the end of 2024.
