Nushrratt Bharuccha has been a globally loved name. However, the actress found herself stranded in a war-torn Israel following the terrifying attack from the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, on October 7. She was invited to the Haifa Film Festival, where her movie, Akelli, was showcased. Nushrratt was accompanied by her stylist and producer of the film.
Ninad Vaidya, the producer of Akelli, was on a call with the actress when he heard an alarm go off loudly three times. In a recent interview with India Today, he recalled the traumatizing phase where Nushrratt Bharuccha was stuck in Israel during its war with Hamas.

For the uninformed, a Palestinian militant group named Hamas launched attacks against Israel on October 7. In retaliation, the country counterattacked the group. This has resulted in hundreds of casualties, leaving several homes destroyed.
Coming back to the Dream Girl actress`s horrifying time in Israel, Ninad said that right after he heard the loud alarm, people were asked to seek shelter in bunkers as the situation was out of control.
"It was like a 26/11 event; it felt like that. You don`t know who`s coming from where, who`s fighting from where all roads were empty," Ninad said. Despite the challenging times, the Indian Embassy and a taxi driver played a crucial role in Nushrratt`s safe return to India.
The producer further added, “The airport was in chaos. Then the idea was, whichever flight we got, the plan was to get into that and get out of Israel; that was the first priority." During this time, the actress`s battery died, and she was left stranded for eight hours at the airport.
Eventually, she managed to secure the first flight to Abu Dhabi and then to India. While Nushrratt is safe now, Ninad recalled the entire situation as unusual and traumatizing.
Nushrratt Bharuccha also issued a statement on her Instagram and thanked the Government of India for prompt help and support.
Her statement read, “The last week will forever remain etched in my memory...a rollercoaster ride of emotions, the final 36 hours of which will remain the most unforgettable and daunting of my life.”
