Pankaj Tripathi to Return as Madhav Mishra in Criminal Justice Season 4

Fans rejoiced as Pankaj Tripathi donned his lawyer`s coat once more, reprising his iconic role as Madhav Mishra in the fourth season of the popular legal drama, Criminal Justice. Titled Criminal Justice – A Family Matter, this installment brought back the beloved character for another complex case, further solidifying the show`s place in the Indian streaming landscape. The season premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on August 29, 2024.
Pankaj Tripathi, as Mishra, added to the suspense, warning in the teaser that the case is "very twisted", signalling an unpredictable journey ahead. Despite the intense themes, the teaser retained moments of the characteristic wit and grounded style that has defined the series since its inception, much to the delight of long-time viewers.
Returning to the character felt special for Pankaj Tripathi. “Criminal Justice feels like homecoming to me," he shared. "Every time I return as Madhav Mishra, it’s like reuniting with an old friend who still has something new to teach me. There’s an honesty and warmth to him that audiences have held onto through every season. That love is deeply humbling. Madhav isn’t just a character I play—he’s someone I carry with me. Director Rohan Sippy expressed it was “an absolute delight” to collaborate with Tripathi again, praising how the actor has crafted such an unforgettable character in Madhav Mishra. Sippy also highlighted the ensemble cast, stating, "And yet again this season brings in a powerful new cast as well, who play off him brilliantly and shape a unique legal drama thriller that audiences will really engage with."
Joining Tripathi in Season 4 were notable actors including Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Surveen Chawla, Mita Vashisht, Asha Negi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Khushboo Atre, and Barkha Singh, adding fresh dynamics to the courtroom drama.
