Rajkummar Rao as Ranjan in Bhool Chuk Maaf
Rajkummar Rao has to be one of the finest actors who brings every character to life. Be it a criminal lawyer in Shahid or a small-town boy in Bhool Chuk Maaf, his performance in every film shines the brightest.
However, it seems it is playing small-town characters that helps Rajkummar find utmost relatability as an actor. His upcoming film, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi, also sees him playing a simple boy from a rural town in Varanasi.
Ahead of the film`s release, the actor opens up about taking inspiration from everyday characters and playing it with authenticity in films such as Kai Po Che, Stree, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and now, Bhool Chuk Maaf.

To which he explained, "I have lived this life; I have seen them close, around me… As I have lived that life, so somewhere there’s a relatable factor with these characters.”

Rajkummar Rao is currently promoting Bhool Chuk Maaf, his next romantic comedy, directed by Karan Sharma. It also co-stars Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead.
Set in Varanasi, the film revolves around Ranjan (Rajkummar), who is eager to marry the love of his life, Titli (Wamiqa). However, he finds himself stuck in a time loop, waking up every day to the morning of his Haldi ceremony.
Commenting more about how doing comedy films may not always be easy, the Stree actor said, "Comedy is a very specialised form of art; it’s not easy. But thanks to Karan, he wrote such a nice story. Thanks to Dinoo , he presented it in such a nice way, and now it’s all yours."
Bhool Chuk Maaf to now released on OTT
The much-anticipated film has already faced a delay in release before. However, the makers have now decided to skip its theatrical release and jump directly to OTT instead.
This decision comes amid the ongoing mock drills and tensions between India and Pakistan following the cowardly Pahalgam terror attack. The announcement comes just a day after the PM Narendra Modi-led government conducted Operation Sindoor.
