During a recent high-profile event, the master filmmaker confirmed a key casting decision for his long-anticipated dream project, an adaptation of the epic Mahabharat. Amidst loud cheers from the audience, Rajamouli affirmed the casting. As captured in a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), he stated, "Definitely, Nani will be part of my film based on Mahabharata." While he clarified that the specific character isn`t decided yet, he emphasised, "Only Nani`s casting is fixed." This marks the very first official casting announcement for the monumental project.

Nani, visibly moved by the confirmation, expressed his deep gratitude to Rajamouli for the opportunity, acknowledging the director`s legendary status. This action-adventure film boasts a star-studded cast, including Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and is expected to be a global spectacle, potentially releasing in 2027. Nani humorously referenced the anticipation for `SSMB29` at the event, joking that audiences worldwide would watch it regardless, highlighting its immense scale and appeal.

The confirmation came during the pre-release event for Nani`s upcoming action thriller, `HIT: The Third Case`, held in Hyderabad on April 27.
