Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor starrer icnic movie Tezaab is all set ot have its remake. Murad Khetani, the movie's producer has officially bough the rights of N Chandra's superhit and the pre-productions of the same will start soon.

Speaking about buying the rights of Tezzab, Khetani says, "It is an iconic film and we will adapt the story to modern times, when we make it."Whie Khetani sounds confident about the remake, Madhuri-Anil's director Chandra has expressed contrasting views and apprehension about the same.

The director said, 'The classics should not be touched and the reason for that is, those films were made in a certain period and the story was embedded and related to that time. Tezaab was about the social era and you cannot remake the era. You cannot replicate the film by putting it into another bottle.'

'Tezaab is an iconic film and I don't think it should be remade. Whether it's me or someone else, aisi filmon ko chhedna nahi chahiye (one should not tamper with such films),' he further added.

A 1988 release, Tezaab also starred Chunky Panday and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. The Ek Do Teen song that gave Madhuri the fame she enjoys today, became an instant hit and was one of the highlights of the movie. It is safe to say Tezaab was one of the most successful movies of 1988.
