Rajasthani folk artist Mame Khan`s latest album Desert Rose is a celebration of his homeland

Folk artist Mame Khan has released his latest album Desert Rose (Registan Ro Gulab) celebrating love, life and his colourful homeland of Rajasthan. Released independently the album has 6 songs- Rajasthan Express, Saawan- A Musical Storm, Halariya -Janam Mubarak, Sajde, Kabira, Hawa Se. Mame Khan has collaborated with some of the best indie musicians on the album. The list of featured artists include Purbayan Chatterjee, Ojas Adhiya, Taufiq Qureshi, Gino Banks, Sheldon D`Silva, Dilshad Khan, Amar Sangam and Nihal Kamboj.
Known for his strong vocals, his superhit song on Coke Studio "Chaudhary", his unique composition glorifying his roots Mame Khan is an indie artist who has captured the imaginatons of audiences across the globe. Born into the Manganiyar community of Rajasthan, Mame Khan has been singing right from his birth. Manganiyar is a community of folk musicians who consider themselves descendants of the Rajputs and their simple yet powerful melodies have been reverberating through the desert for centuries.
Mame Khan has been singing since 1990 and till date has performed across 70 countries. Mame Khan recently became the first folk artist from India to walk the red carpet at the 75th Cannes Film Festival`s Indian Pavillion along with Bollywood celebrities like A R Rehman, Shekhar Kapoor, R Madhvan, Deepika Padukone, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Union Minister for I&B Anurag Singh Thakur.
