Best Folk Fusion Artist Nominees, Radio City Freedom Awards

A fusion folk-rock band from Nagaland, Purple Fusion prides in its use of Naga folk music to make it more contemporary. They perform experimental fusion with genres like Rock, Blues, Funk, Reggae and Jazz, finding a foothold in most of the popular Indian music festivals of today.

Incorporating many eclectic sounds and a wide assortment of rhythms, the tunes of Filter Coffees Bhairav grow on repeated listening.

The man behind Roja Jaaneman -Roja,1992, Zara Zara Mehekta -Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, 2001 and Bombay Theme -Bombay, 1995, flute virtuoso Naveen Kumars Silence is Bliss is a getting together of the best sounds by different artists.

In collaboration with French/Cameroonian bassist Etienne MBappe, Dhruv Ghanekar delivers the soulful Zawa Di. His album, Voyage, is a musical sojourn of various international cultures as seen and heard through his lens.

The collaborative album, Tandanu is a landmark for the band. Barring the title track, the soundtrack has been made without the input of two of the bands founding members including lead guitarist Susmit Sen and Asheem Chakravarty, whose vocals and tabla playing will always be missed.
