Ivana kickstarted her acting career as a child artist in the Malayalam film Masters (2012) at just 12 years old. She later appeared in Rani Padmini (2015) and played a key role in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam (2016) as the daughter of the lead character.
Born as Aleena Shaji, she adopted the stage name "Ivana" on the suggestion of her cousin to make it easier for Tamil audiences to pronounce. She made her Tamil film debut with Naachiyaar (2018), directed by Bala, where she portrayed the character Arasi. Her performance in the film earned her critical acclaim.
Ivana garnered widespread acclaim for her performance in Naachiyaar, earning nominations for Best Debut Actress at both the SIIMA and Filmfare Awards South. Critics praised her expressive acting and the convincing portrayal of her character, solidifying her as a promising talent in the industry.
Ivana gained significant recognition as the lead actress in the Tamil film Love Today in 2022 where she portrayed Nikitha.
