Apart from television serials with high TRPs like Anupamaa, what's keeping the audience interested in the world of entertainment is gossip and updates. Speaking of which, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Gurucharan Singh, who went missing last month, seems to have planned his own disappearance.

For the uninitiated, Gurucharan Singh played the role of the lively Roshan Singh Sodhi in India's longest-running sitcom. He was massively loved by every Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fan. He has been missing since April 22 of this year.

The news became a trending affair after the actor's father filed a missing complaint. Singh was last seen at Delhi airport. He was returning to Mumbai however, he did not land in the city. Now, the Delhi police's comments have made the case even more curious.

Has Gurucharan Singh planned his own disappearance?

According to sources close to the Delhi police team, the television actor may have planned the entire fiasco as a strategy to move out of Delhi. These speculations started after the police sources found CCTV footage.

Gurucharan left his phone in the Palam area, which has made the probe to trace him even more challenging. The police sources seem to have recovered CCTV footage where the actor can be seen moving from one rickshaw to another.

"In the CCTV footage we recovered, he was seen moving from one e-rickshaw to another. It looks like he had planned everything and has moved out of Delhi," sources close to the development said.

Citing the footage, Delhi police sources revealed that Singh was last spotted at the city's airport with a backpack. He had left his home to take a flight to Mumbai however, he neither reached the city nor returned home.

Four days after the actor was unreachable and went missing, his distressed father, Hargit Singh, filed a missing persons complaint. On April 27, an FIR under Section 365 (abduction) was filed by the police.

Gurucharan Singh missing update

As the mystery is far from being solved, it demanded several influential people to step in, one of them being the President of the All Indian Cine Workers Association.

Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, the head of AICWA, requested Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena to look into the matter closely and escalate the search operation.

Last week, Rohit Meena, DCP South West Delhi, revealed that a probe team has been put to action to search Gurucharan Singh.

"Gurucharan's family registered a complaint that he has been missing since April 22. He was supposed to go to Mumbai, but he didn't. We have registered a case under Section 365 of the IPC. We have put together a team to probe the matter, and our technical team is also working on the case. We are in the process of going over the CCTV footage where he is seen walking by himself," Meena said.
