Rajkummar Rao shares how Shah Rukh Khan inspired him to buy his house

Sharing one anecdote about Shah Rukh Khan, Rajkummar Rao said, 'Shah Rukh sir had taught me one thing: 'Beta kabhi bhi ghar lega na, toh aukaat se thoda zyaada lena. Kyunki phir na, upar wala bhi dekhta hai aur tu khud bhi zyada mehnat karega. (Son, whenever you buy a house, buy one a little beyond your means. That way, you'll work harder because you'd want to earn it.)' I found this very fascinating.'

When Shah Rukh Khan bought Mannat and couldn't afford architects

In a previous launch event, Shah Rukh Khan shared a story of how he'd exactly used the advice he gave to Rajkummar Rao. He said, 'When we bought Mannat, it was way beyond our means, and once we were done buying the house, we didn't have money to decorate it. We hired a designer, only to realise we couldn't afford him.'

'Of course, we called one designer. The lunch that he served us while telling us how he'd design this house cost way more than the salary I used to earn in a month. So we thought, now that we've bought it, how do we furnish this house? Then I said, 'See, Gauri, you have the artistic talent why don't you become the designer of the house?' Mannat started like that,' Shah Rukh Khan concluded.
