Anurag Saikia has been dishing out quality music for quite some time. For most music lovers the name Anurag Saikia is associated with webseries' and films like Mulk, Article 15, Panchayat, Mismatched but the young composer is the recipient of the prestigious Rajat Kamal in 2013, the National Award for scoring for the Assamese docu-feature Yugadrashta. While most people will feel the recognition will catapult the musician's career to another level, but that was not quite the case with Anurag

"Starngely enough, not much happened ion my life post the national award. It may help certain people but for me suddenly work stopped coming my way for about 10/11 months. On the contrary my social media was flooded with congratulatory messages. For me the struggle was actually a bit more post the national award compared to the time I started out. There can be another possibility, in 2013 I was very young to realise how big or prestigious the national award is. Having said that every year 100-150 people receive this recognition. The real challenge is the real world. Its great to win an award but the real world is something different. Its a moment, you can celebrate for a day or two or may a couple of weeks, but not more than that. It will make your life difficult," says Anurag.
