Bobby Deol took the internet and box office by storm after he played the antagonist in Animal. One of the monstrous blockbusters of 2023, Animal, saw a massive opening of Rs. 60 crore. While it garnered some controversial reviews, others praised Lord Bobby's acting. Now, the actor opened up about his character Abrar and called him a die-hard romantic.

The 54-year-old is receiving endless praise for his portrayal of Abrar Haque, a menacing, mute gangster who is on a streak to take revenge for his grandfather's death. As per Bobby Deol, he didn't look at his character as a negative role. Instead, he thought Abrar was "romantic and family-oriented."

The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial also starred Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in leading roles.

The Soldier actor, who made a glorious comeback to the big screen after a four-year hiatus, opened up about his character Abrar Haque in Animal. He has some debatable, yet interesting, views.

While many called Animal a blockbuster, others criticized Ranbir Kapoor's character for being misogynistic and graphically violent. Having said that, the film has received a phenomenal response. It has officially crossed the 500-crore club worldwide.



Coming back to Bobby Deol's character, he said, "I didn't think of my character as a villain. I saw my character as a child who was traumatized when he saw his grandfather commit suicide, so he lost his voice. He swears to avenge his grandfather's death."

The actor also called his character romantic, as he had three wives. "He is very family-oriented. He is also romantic he has three wives. He can kill and also get killed for his family," the actor further added.

For the uninitiated, Deol played the antagonist in the action drama. He was Ranbir Kapoor's brother, who tried to seek revenge for his grandfather's death. While he played a small role in Animal, it made a huge impact on the entire story.
