Indian cinema star Kiara Advani made a breathtaking debut at the Met Gala 2025, held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 5th. Amidst the glitz and glamour of fashion`s biggest night, Kiara radiated joy, proudly showcasing her baby bump. The event, celebrating the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, saw the expecting mother glow in a bespoke ensemble that was both a fashion statement and a heartfelt ode to motherhood.
Kiara expressed her vision for the outfit, stating, “My brief to Gaurav was this is the next phase of my life that I want that to be a part of the expression and of this outfit... I love the way we have interpreted the theme and the way it tied up with me doing this for my baby, like André Leon Talley paved the way for the next generation.”
Behind the scenes, Kiara shared intimate moments leading up to the Gala. A viral clip showed the mom-to-be playfully munching on pizza, joking, "It`s my MET die. Embracing her changing physique, she confidently remarked during a fitting, “I just want to tell you all that after a long time, I know this is my new body, but I am really feeling hot in this new body.”
She lovingly addressed her unborn child while admiring the outfit`s details, particularly the golden umbilical cord. "The umbilical cord is actually such a sweet detail.... It’s like saying, ‘Hey, buddy, you are on the steps of the Met`," she shared, gently holding her bump.

Kiara, known for hits like Kabir Singh and Shershaah, and her husband, actor Sidharth Malhotra, announced their pregnancy in February, calling it “the greatest gift of our lives”. The couple, who married in 2023, shared the screen in the 2021 film Shershaah. Kiara`s Met Gala debut was not just a fashion moment but a beautiful celebration of her journey into motherhood on a global stage.

A Debut Steeped in Symbolism
For her first appearance on the iconic Met steps, Kiara chose a stunning black, gold, and white creation by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta, titled "Bravehearts". The gown featured a sculpted gold breastplate, intricately forged into two crystal-encrusted hearts linked by a symbolic chain umbilical cord, representing the profound connection between mother and child. A dramatic double-panelled white cape, reminiscent of André Leon Talley’s 2010 Met appearance, completed the look.
