"Superfine" Style: The 2025 Met Gala Theme
This year`s Met Gala celebrated "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style", focusing exclusively on menswear for the first time in over two decades. Inspired by Monica L. Miller`s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the theme explored Black style through the lens of dandyism from the 18th century onwards. The dress code, "Tailored for You", referenced the suiting central to the exhibition. Gala committee member Usher highlighted its significance: "The theme this year is not only timely but also speaks to our rich culture that should always be widely celebrated." The event was co-chaired by Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James as honorary co-chair.Fresh from his Met Gala triumph and successful tour, fans can look forward to Diljit`s upcoming single, "Buck", a collaboration with K-pop star Jackson Wang, releasing May 9th.
