Shah Rukh Khan is one of the few Indian actors who enjoys global stardom. His debut appearance at the Met Gala 2025 is proof of how fans across the borders love him. As soon as he stepped out of his New York hotel, fans were screaming his name.
But we guess not everyone is aware how big a deal he is, especially Met Gala 2025 hosts Teyana Taylor and Ego Nwodim. It seems the two were confused as to whom they were talking to.
However, it was designer Sabyasachi who set the records straight and reminded them that Shah Rukh Khan is the "most famous man in the world".
Sabyasachi introduces SRK to Met Gala hosts
A video shared by Vogue shows the singer and the SNL having a regular chat with the superstar and the fashion designer, who dressed Shah Rukh Khan for his big day.
Teyana and Ego introduced Shah Rukh as the `first male Bollywood star` to have attended the gala and asked him about how he felt making history. The actor smiled and said he was pretty nervous, as he is a very shy person and hasn`t walked that many red carpets.

The Don actor was then asked about what he`s most excited about, and he mentioned that he wanted to impress his kids with this appearance. He spoke about the inspiration behind his look, and that`s when Sabysachi took over.

“Just to give a little context, Shah Rukh Khan is probably the most famous man in the world, and his fan following is legendary. We nearly had a stampede outside the hotel when he came out,” the designer told the hosts.
He further explained, “When you get a man like this, when it`s Black Dandy, representation is the most important thing. We wanted to represent Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan and nobody else.”
Ego said, “Well, Sabya I think you did your thing, and Shah Rukh, you look fantastic. I hope your kids are proud. Kids, you have to be proud of Dad.”

For King Khan`s Met Gala appearance, Sabyasachi created an elongated black floor-length coat in Tasmanian superfine wool with monogrammed Japanese horn buttons.
The coat is hand canvassed, single-breasted with a peak collar and wide lapels. He paired the coat with a crepe de chine silk shirt and tailored superfine wool trousers.

SRK layered the outfit with a custom stack and the Bengal Tiger Head Cane crafted in 18-karat gold, tourmalines, sapphires, old mine cut, and brilliant cut diamonds.
When asked Sabyasachi about collaborating with the actor, he said, "Shah Rukh Khan is one of the greatest superstars in the world. A cinematic hero, his blockbuster performances and leading-man charisma have created a legendary international fan following."
