The 69th National Film Awards were announced on Thursday at a press conference held in Delhi`s National Media Centre. The announcement of the awards was livestreamed on the Press Information Bureau`s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Past year`s winner
The 68th National Film Awards saw Ajay Devgn and Suriya win Best Actors for their movies, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Soororai Pottru, respectively. Suriya`s co-star Aparna Balamural also won the Best Actress award for the same movie.
Soororai Pottru won the National Award for Best Feature Film.
