Parth Samthaan
The world of CID fandom experienced a seismic shift earlier this year. Parth Samthaan stepped into the shoes of a new lead, ACP Ayushman, following the departure of the iconic ACP Pradyuman, played for decades by Shivaji Satam. This change sparked a mix of shock, disappointment, and even some excitement among viewers. While many praised Parth`s performance, recent developments suggest trouble might be brewing behind the scenes.
This has led to speculation that the show`s creators are considering a major shake-up. The report suggests makers might bring back Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman in a bid to boost ratings. Naturally, this fuelled rumours that Parth Samthaan could be making an early exit from the popular crime procedural.
However, not everyone is convinced Parth is leaving. Another report presents a different perspective. A source cited by the portal suggested the exit rumours might be unfounded. “The rumours of Parth leaving might be false. The channel has to understand that the easy availability of CID 2 online and competition from IPL 2025 have severely affected the viewership of the show. Just Shivaji Satam’s exit was a promotional gimmick; we have to wait for some time to know the clear picture," the source stated. It’s important to note that neither Parth Samthaan nor the show`s makers have officially confirmed any of these rumours.

Addressing the intense fan reactions in an India Forums interview, Parth showed understanding. “Honestly, I didn’t expect the trolling to be this intense. I understand where it’s coming from. Even I have been a fan of Shivaji Sir and the original characters. If I were in the viewers’ place, I’d probably feel the same seeing someone new step into such a loved role.” He further clarified his position, adding, “I’m not here to fill his shoes but to bring something new while respecting the legacy.”
For now, the future remains uncertain. Fans will have to wait for official confirmation to know if ACP Ayushman is here to stay or if ACP Pradyuman will make a comeback.
Dropping TRPs and Exit Rumours
According to a recent report, the transition hasn`t been entirely smooth for the show`s ratings. It claims that introducing ACP Ayushman has negatively impacted the Television Rating Points (TRP). CID 2, which also streams on Netflix, is reportedly facing challenges in maintaining its previously high viewership numbers. This has led to speculation that the show`s creators are considering a major shake-up. Parth`s Take on the Role and Backlash
Interestingly, Parth himself initially had reservations about the role. In a prior interview with Hindustan Times, he confessed, “Initially, I rejected the role of ACP Pradyuman because I don’t relate to it. But the makers asked me to reconsider. I was also hesitant due to the show’s long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as ‘sir’ on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward."Addressing the intense fan reactions in an India Forums interview, Parth showed understanding. “Honestly, I didn’t expect the trolling to be this intense.
