PM Modi Thinks The Film Article 370 Can Help Spread Awareness
2024 is lined up with some exciting and highly thought-provoking movies. One of them is Yami Gautam and Priya Mani`s Article 370. The movie revolves around scrapping the article from the Indian Constitution in an attempt to free Jammu and Kashmir from terrorism.
The trailer for Article 370 has already garnered several eyeballs in the film industry and in political speeches as well. The movie even made it to the Prime Minister of India`s recent speech.
While addressing a rally at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the upcoming political drama in his speech. He remarked that he wasn`t aware of the exact content of the film; however, he thought that it could be a good means to spread accurate information about the controversial law.
In his speech, Modi said, "I have heard that perhaps a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week. I think your `Jai Jai Kaar` (cheers) are going to be heard all over the country."
He further added, "I do not know what the film is all about, but yesterday I heard on TV that a film is coming on Article 370. Good, it will be useful for people to get correct information."

Yami Gautam took no time to respond to the Prime Minister. Yami felt humbled and honoured to be mentioned by Modi himself, and took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to speak about this.
She wrote to the PM in her post, "My team and I really hope that we all exceed your expectations in bringing this incredible story to the screen!"
Article 370 of the Constitution of India granted internal autonomy to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This law particularly denied outsiders the right to own land in J&K. At the time of independence, the law was introduced as an interim arrangement to mitigate the war-like situation in the state.
In 2019, Article 370 was repealed by the Supreme Court of India on the grounds that it was a `temporary provision` and that removing Jammu and Kashmir`s internal autonomy was valid.
Movies like The Kashmir Files throws light on the situation of the valley before and after eradicating the article from the Constitution.
The upcoming political drama is headlined by Yami Gautam and Priyamani. The cast also consists of Arun Govil, Kiran Karmarkar, and Divya Seth in supporting roles. The film is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and produced by Aditya Dhar.
Article 370 is set to release on Friday, February 23, in cinemas near you.
