Rajinikanth Calls Amitabh Bachchan His Mentor, See Photo!

Rajinikanth has been enjoying the success of his last film, Jailer, which did a great job at the box office. It earned more than 600 crore in a moment of rejoicing for him and his fans. Now, he is shooting for his next film, titled Thalaiva 170. In the film, Amitabh Bachchan plays an important role.
Rajinikanth shared a picture from the sets of the film on Twitter and wrote a heartwarming message for Mr. Bachchan. He said, "After 33 years, I am working again with my mentor, the phenomenon Shri Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming Lyca’s "Thalaivar 170" directed by T.J Gnanavel. My heart is thumping with joy!"
Rajinikanth has mentioned multiple times how he was inspired by the early films of Amitabh Bachchan, especially his 1974 film Zanjeer. Later, Rajinikanth starred in many remakes of Bollywood films that featured Amitabh Bachchan.

Both of them went on to rule people`s hearts, with Rajinikanth enjoying an incredible fan following worldwide even today. In his home state, Tamil Nadu, his film releases are a festival in themselves.
Thalaiva 170 is directed by T. J. Gnanavel, who is known for his last film, Jai Bhim, which was met with critical acclaim upon release. It starred Surya in the lead role. The film`s shooting began with Rajinikanth completing a schedule in Kerala.
The two superstars are all set to reunite on the big screen after 33 years since their film Hum (1991). Hum was directed by Mukul Anand and also starred Govinda, Deepa Sahi, Shilpa Shirodkar, and Danny Denzongpa.
It has excited fans of both stars, as they will be seen together after a long gap. The film will definitely become a blockbuster, with the Jodi doing wonders.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Uunchai in 2022, along with Anupam Kher, Parineeti Chopra, and Boman Irani. He has multiple projects lined up for future release, like the Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD. Along with that, he will be singing a song for the Kannada remake of the Bollywood film Queen.
He is currently hosting the new season of his quiz reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati.
