Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, And More Celebs Lose Blue Ticks On Twitter, The Reason Will Shock You

On Thursday, Twitter, a micro-blogging site removed the legacy verified blue ticks from all the accounts. And surprisingly, the only users who have verified blue ticks are those who are paying for Twitter Blue. The cost of the verified checkmarks is USD per 8/month through the web and USD 11/month through the in-app payment on iOS and Android. This has affected top Indiain celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli, and many more.
As per the reports, it was announced earlier that Twitter would soon remove the verified blue tick status of accounts that before Elon Musk’s acquisition had been verified unless they chose Twitter Blue or business-focused Twitter Verified Organizations and had not subscribed to the scheme.
Have a look at celebrities` Twitter profile, which now looks like any normal social media handle.
1. Anushka Sharma And Alia Bhatt
The two leading Bollywood actresses lost their blue ticks after Elon Musk introduced the Twitter Blue policy.
2. Amitabh Bachchan And Shah Rukh Khan
Yet another two superstars of Hindi cinema who are the victim of the new Twitter policy. It would be difficult to disclose the real celebrity profile versus the fake ones. We wonder how Shah Rukh Khan will continue the #AskSRK series and make fans believe it is truly him without the blue tick.
Apart from these actors, sportspersons like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, PV Sindhu, and more also lost their blue ticks from their respective Twitter profile.
Later on, in March, Twitter posted from its official handle, “On April 1st, we will begin shutting down our Legacy Verified program and removing the Legacy Verified checkmark. To keep their blue checkmark on Twitter, people can sign up for Twitter Blue."
This shocking change has led to the loss of verified checkmarks of several known celebrities. While some may freak out, actor-comedian Vir Das, who also lost the verified blue tick, seems quite cool with it.
Bye blue tick. I’m okay with someone impersonating me on twitter. YOU deal with the things they call me
— Vir Das (@thevirdas) April 21, 2023
Taking it to Twitter, he wrote, “Bye blue tick. I’m okay with someone impersonating me on twitter. YOU deal with the things they call me." He further tweeted, "How about this? If you like what I’m saying, it’s the real me. If you’re pissed off/offended/looking to take action/going to complain to some sort of metaphorical papa, this account belongs to an unverified impersonator. Cool?"
Do you think with celebrities loosing their blue ticks will impact their image?
