Friendship is an essential part of life, and everyone seeks comfort in another person in different ways. A lot of times, breaking off a romantic relationship makes it difficult for some people to stay friends, more so when it all ends badly. However, there are many who move on from their older selves and continue to remain friends even after the love route fails. Rakshit Shetty and Rashmika Mandanna are two such actors who have chosen to remain friends even after their engagement was mutually called off.

The two actors from the South Indian film industry got engaged on July 3rd, 2017 in a private ceremony that took place in the hometown of Rashmika. The two met during the filming of the 2016 Kannada comedy film, Kirik Party, which was directed by Rishab Shetty. However, things didn't go as planned, and the two decided to call off their engagement in September 2018 due to compatibility issues. However, in a recent interview, Shetty revealed that the two are still on good terms as friends.

In the video interview on the Youtube channel, Rakshit Shetty said that he and Rashmika message each other once in a while. Moreover, they wish each other luck on their respective film releases. Along with that, they also remember each other on birthdays and send wishes each year. He was also all praise for her and her dreams, saying that she was achieving all that she had dreamed of.

Meanwhile, after the breakup, Rashmika was rumored to be dating Vijay Deverakonda, with whom she had shared screen space in Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019). Time and again, both of them have denied any such links.

It is commendable to see such a mature way of handling relationships and being a well-wisher for someone you are no longer with. While on the work front, Rashmika is gearing up for the release of her film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. She was last seen in the Hindi film Majnu and the Vijay starrer Tamil blockbuster Varisu. On the other hand, Rakshit Shetty is celebrating the success of his latest Kannada film, Sapta Sagardaache Ello: Side A. It is a two-part romantic drama film co-written and directed by Hemanth M. Rao.
