World Environment Day 2024: Actors Who Are Campaigners For A Greener Environment
The environment and human race can co-exist beautifully only if we ensure to protect them with the utmost care. World Environmental Health Day, a United Nations initiative, is celebrated every year on September 26 to encourage awareness and care for nature.
While many movies have shed light on why conserving the environment is every citizen`s basic responsibility, some Bollywood actors are taking their love for the environment pretty seriously.
Many have been urging their fans to do their bit to conserve nature, while others have switched to an organic and climate-friendly lifestyle to promote a healthy environment around them.

On World Environment Day 2024, let`s have a look at celebrities and popular faces who have been campaigning and inspiring positive change to create a more sustainable world.
1. Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan has been on a mission to spread awareness about climate-change, especially when it comes to land restoration and droughts in rural areas of Maharashtra. The actor and his ex-wife, Kiran Rao, have been running an NGO named Paani Foundation that aims to fight water shortages in villages and other remote locations.
In an old interview, the 3 Idiots actor opened up about his mission and how he empowered villagers to solve the problems.
“My team is busy working with the Paani Foundation. Our plan is to empower villagers with knowledge, which, when applied, could help solve these problems. So, we believe in training. Last year, we trained over 20,000 villagers,” Aamir added.
2. Priyanka Chopra
The Citadel star is vocal about environmental issues and leaves no chance to make people aware of them. She is a global icon, and through her association with UNICEF, she has tried her best to create a better world for the youth and the children.

3. Amitabh Bachchan
For the uninitiated, Bollywood`s legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has extended his support to People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an organization that works for animal protection and rights.
The Sholay actor has also partnered with Global Cool, an international organization, and the prestigious Indian Film Academy to spread awareness about the impact of climate change in our country.
4. Alia Bhatt
Very few people know that Alia Bhatt has launched an initiative called Coexist, which aims to create an understanding of the balance between nature and human life.

The Jigra actor has also been involved in adoption campaigns for animals and has been vocal about the importance of caring for and protecting innocent animals.
5. Ajay Devgn
One major initiative led by Ajay Devgn is the establishment of a solar power plant in Patan district, Gujarat. Through this, he proves his commitment to renewable energy sources as a means of generating power.
The actor is always seen creating awareness about the benefits of renewable energy and how much potential it holds for a better future.
6. Dia Mirza
The gorgeous diva is the first UNEP Goodwill Ambassador for India. She has been championing the cause and promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle for the past couple of years.

She has also been supporting wildlife conservation programs, and in 2017, Dia was announced as the brand ambassador of the Wildlife Trust of India.
7. Bhumi Pednekar
The Thank You For Coming star staryed her own initiative called the Bhumi Foundation, with which she started working with organizations and climate conservationists to spread awareness about climate change and sustainability.
Her passion project started a few years ago when she started funding the same through her acting earnings. Bhumi supports causes and initiatives like Mumbai beach clean-ups and saving the Himalayas.
