In 2022, we lost a musical gem – Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, collapsed on the stage while performing at a concert in Kolkata. Gone too soon, here are some unknown facts you didn’t know about the singer.
1. We all knew him as KK which stands for Krishnakumar Kunnath.
2. KK never took any formal training in music.
3. KK married his childhood friend and knew each other for 37 years.
4. His kids Nakul and Taamara are also into music. His son did a rap in his song "Masti" for his album 'Humsafar' in 2008.
5. Starting his musical journey, he sang 3500+ jingles in 11 different languages.
6. He admired his mentor Leslie Lewis who also gave him his first break for his Solo Song.
7 .He also sang for an international album 'Rise Up - Colours of Peace' in 2013 which included artists from 12 different countries.
8. In 2008, KK sang for a Pakistani TV show ‘The Ghost’.
9. Apart from films, KK was also popular for TV serials like Just Mohabbat, Hip Hip Hurray, Kavyanjali & Just Dance for his songs.
10. He was awarded the National Award for 'Tu Aashiqui Hai' from Jhankar Beats in 2004.
