2024 began on a rather spiritual note, with Ayodhya Ram Mandir having a grand inauguration. Over 8,000 devotees were seen in the pran pratishtha ceremony. After centuries, India has gotten back its Ram Mandir. While todays youth may not be that inclined towards the divine force, here are some movies that added a pragmatic touch to spirituality. Want to change or challenge your perspective? Add these movies to your list.
1. PK
The Bollywood movie starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma revolves around an alien who gets stuck on a planet and finds his way around, trying to wrap his head around humans and their irrational beliefs. The movie also starred the late Sushant Singh Rajput.
PK throws light on how the so-called know-it-all Babajis try to trap people in the world of superstition. When an alien challenges the Babaji, that's when the film takes an interesting turn.
2. OMG: Oh My God
The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, is a great watch with a beautiful take on the strength of faith we hold. While it questions the believers, it also answers every pragmatic point of view of an aethist. There’s a sequel to this film, and just like the first one, the second part does not disappoint in terms of entertainment. OMG 2 is headlined by Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi.
3. Seven Years in Tibet
The Hollywood blockbuster starring Brad Pitt takes us through the life of an arrogant young man and how he ends up spending a major part of his life in Tibet, which eventually changes him as a person. This is one of the best spiritual movies for today's youth.
