Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday performed the rituals of Pran Pratishthan of Ayodhya Ram Mandir and unveiled the idol of Lord Rama
Along with PM Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat also performed the rituals
The temple has been adorned with flowers and beautifully illuminated with lights, providing a glimpse into the grandeur of this sacred place.
The idol of Ram Lalla, sculpted by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, stands at an impressive 51 inches tall and weighs 1.5 tonnes.
The portrayal captures Lord Ram as a five-year-old child standing on a lotus, crafted from the same stone. This intricately carved idol is the focal point of the sanctum sanctorum in the Ayodhya temple.
A team of priests, led by Lakshmikant Dixit, guided the main rituals; following that PM Modi made offering with flowers.
The process of Pran Pratishtha commenced on January 16, including 'Prayaschit' and Karmakuti puja.
Subsequent days witnessed the idol entering the premises, installation in the sanctum sanctorum, and various rituals like Aushadhivas, Kesaradhivas, Ghritadhivas, Dhanyadhivas, Sugardhivas, Fruitdhivas, Pushpadhivas, and Madhyadhivas leading up to the grand ceremony.
