The list also features movies based on real-life characters from the sports industry, as well as brave women who challenged their adverse circumstances and showcased their bravery in the worst of times.

Chappaak is a biopic based on the life of a girl named Laxmi Agarwal, who was the survivor of an acid attack. The character of Laxmi is played by Deepika Padukone.

This bold film stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Aahana Kumra, is a dark comedy that shows the journey of four women of different ages and backgrounds, who struggle to break free from conservative societal norms about womanhood.
Dangal is also a biopic film based on the life journey of gold medallist wrestlers Geeta Phoghat and Babita Phoghat. The leading cast of the film is Aamir Khan, Sanya Malhotra, Suhani Bhatnagar, and Fatima Sana Sheikh.
Starring Priyanka Chopra, this film is a biopic based on the life of Indian Olympic boxer Mary Kom. She was the only female boxer to win a medal in each of the total seven Amateur Boxing Championships.
The film Neerja is based on the plane hijack of the aeroplane ‘Pan Am Flight 73’ at Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan. The flight purser Neerja Bhanot, played by Sonam Kapoor, bravely saved the life of multiple people due to her bravery in the face of fear.

Based on a true story, Raazi is a film based on an undercover RAW agent played by Alia Bhatt. The agent gets married into a Pakistani family involved in the military operations, so that she could secretly pass on information to the RAW agency in India.
Manikarnika stars Kangana Ranaut, who plays the character of Jhansi’s queen, Rani Laxmibai. The highlight of the film is her rebellion against the British Raj who try to annex her kingdom with the East India Company.
