Akshay Kumar-Pankaj Tripathi starrer Oh My God 2 released its teaser on July 10, and it has garnered great reactions. However, Bollywood and its efforts to narrate mythological tales through movies have always invited controversy. Adipurush became the latest victim of trolls and faced major backlash for its dialogues and wrongly depicting the Ramayana. The makers of Oh My God 2 have already taken the necessary steps to avoid falling into the controversy trap.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is already looking into the film before its release to avoid any controversies. As per the reports, the board's revision committee strives to ensure there are no issues created due to the movie's dialogue or scenes.
However, there is no clarity on which scenes or dialogue from Akshay Kumar's Oh My God must have been controversial enough to hurt the audience's sentiments. Once the revision committee gives the green light, the CBFC will make a decision for the upcoming mythology movie.
The Censor Board overlooks Oh My God 2
The censor board opened up about why it is intricately looking into the dialogues of Oh My God 2. A source close to the development revealed some interesting details.'CBFC does not want to repeat the backlash that Adipurush faced over its dialogues, and it will take a decision on Akshay Kumar-starrer Oh My God 2 after the board's revising committee 'looks over at the dialogues and scenes in the film," said the source.
The source further said the censor board is now taking "preemptive measures" to avoid any controversy over the dialogue or scenes of the movie. After looking at the repercussions on Adipurush's dialogues, the CBFC now wants to make sure any movie related to God or religion is first run through the revision committee.
