There have been several adaptations of the Hindu mythological saga Ramayana. However, OG Ramanand Sagar's TV serial remains a cult classic. Among those several versions of narrating the story of Lord Ram vs. Raavan, one of them was the latest pan-Indian release, Adipurush. While it failed to impress the audience and invited controversies due to its nonsensical dialogues, fans compared the Prabhas-Kriti Sanon movie with the iconic show.
Om Raut's Adipurush started on a great note, collecting over Rs. 300 crore globally. However, it saw a major downfall after the first weekend of its release. Many moviegoers and fans criticized half-baked storytelling, absurd dialogues, bland performances, and even some modern-day touches to the Indian epic mythology tale.

The film, released on June 16, received mixed reviews from across the nation. While some called it out for its imbecilic dialogues, others expressed their disappointment at the representation of iconic characters.
