Fawad Khan To Make His Bollywood Comeback With Vaani Kapoor, Deets Inside

Bollywood fans have been waiting with bated breath to see Fawad Khan make his glorious comeback to Hindi films, especially after he delivered some phenomenal performances with movies like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Khubsoorat.

For the uninitiated, a ban on Pakistani artists was imposed after the dreadful URI terror attack in 2016, which killed several brave Indian soldiers. The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) cited that the decision was made due to security and patriotic reasons, which discontinued cross-border talent in the Indian film industry.

This decision sent back home several Pakistani artists, including Atif Aslam and Mahira Khan. Now, reports suggest Fawad Khan is all set to make his glorious Bollywood comeback in a rom-com where he will be paired opposite Vaani Kapoor.

Fawad Khan to return to Bollywood?

It's been almost 8 years since the Pakistani heartthrob left India due to political reasons. His last stint with Bollywood was in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, where he played Anushka Sharma's lover.

After the Bombay High Court ruled in favor of cross-border talent exchange, Fawad is all set to make a much-anticipated return to Bollywood. He will be seen opposite Vaani Kapoor in a romantic comedy that will be shot extensively in London.

The two actors will come together for an Aarti Bagdi directorial, a filmmaker who is known to have made some spectacular short films like Khamakha.

A trade source close to the development revealed some interesting details and quoted, 'Fawad Khan has a massive international pull given his popularity amongst South Asians worldwide. He has also been a part of the Marvel cinematic universe. Details of this project are being kept under wraps, and everyone is tight-lipped about it. The producers will announce this project just before it starts its filming schedule in the UK."

The Fawad Khan-Vaani Kapoor starrer tells the story of two broken people who meet by a stroke of luck and end up helping each other unintentionally. The byproduct of it is how they end up falling in love.

'Vaani Kapoor has been a part of big films, and she was the perfect choice for this project, given how she has protected herself from being overexposed. The makers wanted an incredibly fresh cast where Fawad falls in love with a gorgeous Indian girl and Vaani fits right in,' the insider further revealed.

The yet-to-be-titled project will go on floors in September and wrap up by November 2024.
