One of the highest anticipated movies of this year, Devara: Part 1, brings together a spectacular cast of Jr. NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan in prominent roles. The film revolves around a dramatic clash of wills in a coastal backdrop where power dynamics are in constant inconsistency.
While the trailer for Devara: Part 1 took the entire internet by storm, it was not well received by everyone. This included the popular filmmaker Shankar, who accused the makers of copyright infringement by allegedly ripping off scenes from the novel 'Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Paari.'
Since the rights of the novel remain with Shankar, he has now threatened a legal action against the makers of the Telugu action drama, as he supposedly takes a dig at them through his latest social media post.
Shankar threatens makers of Devara
Hours after the trailer of the Jr. NTR starrer was dropped, the director took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared a rather cryptic note, hinting at taking legal action against the makers for copyright infringement.Shankar wrote, 'Attention to all! As the copyright holder of Su. Venkatesan's iconic Tamil novel "Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Paari," I'm disturbed to see key scenes being ripped off and used without permission in many movies."
