Partha Sarath Mahanta also highlighted how the prestige award ceremony does not have a category reserved for aries, and their making an exception for the movie has moved him.
"Filmfare does not have a ary segment. In their glorious history, Filmfare has never accorded this honor to any non-feature film. But in this case, Filmfare has honored Lachit the Warrior with a special AV presentation and felicitation to the director and producer,' he concluded.
The Story of Lachit - The Warrior
The award-winning and globally recognized ary is based on the Ahom Dynasty, which ruled the Ahom Kingdom in present-day Assam for nearly 598 years.Based on the story of courageous Ahom General Lachit Barphukan, the movie takes you deep into the rich history of North East India. Facing a relentless Mughal invasion in 1660, Assam found its savior in Lachit.
Under his guidance and command, Ahom found their victory and defied the odds of defeating the mighty Mughals, thus driving them outside Assam. It was the battle of Saraighat in 1671 that acted as a decisive force for the Mughals to leave the Ahom territory.
