Once a hot couple in Bollywood, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt were a duo whom every fan wished would end up together. While they broke up after being in a rumored relationship, the two continue to remain acquaintances today. In a recent interview, the actor recalled pranking his ex-girlfriend during the shoot of Kapoor and Sons.

After doing two movies together, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra are yet to be seen together on-screen. Some of their popular movies include Student of the Year and Kapoor and Sons, both of which were received well on the box office.

In a recent interview, the Yodha actor recalled pranking his co-star by faking a bike accident only to get her attention. The story will surely melt your hearts.

The Shershaah actor sat down for a casual chat with Neha Dhupia on her show, No Filter with Neha, where he opened up about several things about his personal life. He even shed light on his relationship with Alia.

When the host asked him what's the most embarrassing thing he has done to get a girl's attention, he coyly admitted pranking the Brahmastra actress's attention by faking an accident.

'We were going back from set in Coonoor, which is a very hilly area, and there were these tree plantations. I thought, Abhi bohot ho gaya, gaadi main nahi jaana. I took a bike with my production EP. We were riding the bike in front, and Shakun (Batra) and Alia (Bhatt) were in the car behind, and they could see us. They were like, 'Be careful. Why're you riding this bike?' Alia was all stressed out. Everyone was like, Why are you doing this? It's a bike, for god's sake. We're not going to space,' he recalled.

Sidharth Malhotra continued, 'We got very irritated with it. We took a right bend you know how hilly areas are. I stopped, put the bike in the corner, and laid down, and we were both lying in a corner next to it, pretending that we had fallen or had a bad accident. Full Hindi picture style, you know.'

'Those guys turned and screeched the car to a halt and were like, shit, f*ck, they've fallen down. We saw Shakun and Alia stressed, and Alia started crying because we were lying down as if we were dead. By the time they came, I saw her crying, and I started feeling bad. I said I was fine it was a joke. At least pyaar toh mila, koi toh royega jab aap jaoge,' he concluded.

On the work front

Both actors are doing exceptionally well in their careers. After making their glorious debut together in Karan Johar's Student of the Year, they spent over a decade in the film industry.

Alia Bhatt was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani alongside Ranveer Singh. The movie did phenomenally well at the box office. She will next be seen in Jigra, co-starring Vedang Raina.

As for Sidharth Malhotra, his last project, Yodha, was a commercial disappointment. It also starred Rashii Khanna and Disha Patani in prominent roles. His next collaboration with Drishyam director Jeetu Joseph has already excited fans.


Alia and Sidharth dated each other back in 2016 for a brief period. While neither of them accepted nor denied their relationship, the duo's on-and-off-screem chemistry says otherwise.

However, things didn't work out between them, and the two called it quits. Today, Alia Bhatt is married to Ranbir Kapoor, and the couple shares a 2-year-old daughter, Raha Kapoor.

Sidharth, on the other hand, is married to Kiara Advani. They tied the knot in February 2023 in Jaisalmer's Suryagarh Palace.
