Akshay Kumar`s historical courtroom drama, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, continues its impressive run at the box office, showing remarkable strength well into its second week. The film experienced a significant jump in collections on its second Sunday, proving the power of its content and positive audience reception.
The audience turnout reflected the growing buzz. Sacnilk reported an overall Hindi occupancy of 29.02% for the day. While morning shows started at 13.51%, occupancy surged to 33.98% during the afternoon shows. Evening shows saw the highest engagement at 41.74%, before settling to 26.86% for the night shows. These figures indicate a strong positive response from viewers throughout the day.
The film`s steady earnings, particularly its resilience in the second weekend, haven`t gone unnoticed. Film critic Taran Adarsh highlighted the movie`s success, attributing it to its compelling narrative. He noted the film`s strong performance, especially comparing its second Friday favourably to its first, which benefited from a holiday.
On Instagram, Adarsh remarked, “POWER OF SOLID CONTENT... #KesariChapter2 springs a massive surprise – its second Friday collections are close to its first Friday [₹ 7.84 cr], which had the advantage of the #GoodFriday holiday... A rarity in today`s times!” He further added, “An excellent 77.78% growth on its second Saturday clearly indicates that the film is here to stay for a while. Another strong showing today [Sunday] should comfortably push #KesariChapter2 past the Rs 65 crore mark.”
