Sushmita Sen Recalls Being Called A `Gold Digger`, Reveals Her Relationship Status

Sushmita Sen is back with a bang after delivering a spectacular performance in her web series Aarya. She will be seen playing a transgender woman in Taali. The teaser for Taali has already garnered anticipation. Now, the actress opened up about the time when she was called a `gold digger` amidst the whole Lalit Modi controversy.

In a recent interview, the Aarya actress recalled the time when she was called names like gold digger amidst rumors of her dating IPL founder Lalit Modi. She was time and again linked with her ex-boyfriend, Rohman Shawl. This was after the two called it quits but still remained friends.

Sushmita said, “An insult is an insult when you receive it; I don’t receive it. So it went out of the window. There are certain things that are nobody’s business.” When asked about her current relationship status, she said she is “very much single.”
In the same interview, the Taali actress also revealed why she decided to respond to the brutal trolls.
“I respond when I want, if I want. If I don’t want to, I won’t. But when I believe it is time to speak up or take a stand on something, I do so. The problem is that in social media days, something happens, and here comes the reaction. That’s not how I am built. I take my time absorbing, and then I respond to things when I am ready,” Sushmita Sen further added.
While the Mai Hoon Na actress chose to be silent on the rumors, she responded to the trolls like a boss lady. Taking it to Instagram, she wrote a long post that stated how she was more of a diamond girl and always has been.
Sushmita will be next seen in Taali, a biopic on transgender activist Gauri Sawant. The movie will be streaming on JioCinemas from August 15 onward.
