Reports of Aditi Rao Hydari, the 'Padmaavat' actress, marrying her long-time partner Siddharth have been circulating on the internet this week. The news was recently confirmed at a special date announcement event for her upcoming Netflix series, 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar'.
Aditi Rao Hydari skips the Heeramandi event, host confirms her wedding
The Heeramandi actress was mysteriously missing from the grand announcement event for Heeramandi's release date. Addressing her absence, the host of the show, Sachin Kumbhar, confirmed that Aditi couldn't attend as she was getting married. He said, 'Aditi is one of the important parts of Heeramandi, and she is not here today, and there's a reason because she got married today. So, we will congratulate her from here. Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth reportedly got married at the Ranganatha Swamy temple in Srirangapur, Wanaparthi, Telangana. The rituals were conducted by priests from Tamil Nadu, Siddharth's home state. The couple first met on the sets of Maha Samudram, a Telugu-language film released in 2021. Since then, they have appeared together at many events and have been open about their relationship.
Heeramandi makers announce the show's release date at a grand event
On Wednesday evening, the makers of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar held a unique and extravagant drone show at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai. The event was attended by the show's director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and the leading ladies: Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal. Heeramandi will be released on Netflix on May 1, 2024. This series marks director and composer Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut in the digital space. Heeramandi is set in the pre-independence period, when the country was rebelling against the British Raj. The plot revolves around the mistresses of Lahore's red-light district, known as Heera Mandi, or the diamond market. The makers previously released the song 'Sakal Ban' from the series earlier this month. The song was composed by Bhansali, with lyrics from the 12th-century Sufi singer Amir Khusro. Raja Hasan provided the vocals for the song.
