The much-anticipated film Devara: Part 1, starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, has recently cleared its censorship formalities with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie has been granted a U/A certificate, allowing it to be viewed by audiences aged 12 and above with parental guidance. However, the CBFC ordered four key modifications to some scenes before issuing the certification.
CBFC's 4 Key Cuts to Devara: Part 1
The makers of Devara: Part 1 were required to make changes to four scenes, mostly involving violent content, as per CBFC's directives.Three cuts were made to reduce the intensity of violent scenes. The visuals of a man kicking his wife, a five-second shot of a man's body hanging on a sword, and a son kicking his mother were slightly altered, ensuring that the essence of the scenes remained intact without compromising the impact.
The fourth change required a ticker to be added during a scene where Jr NTR is seen riding a shark. The CBFC insisted on adding a note clarifying that the shark was CGI-generated, preventing any confusion or misunderstanding among viewers.
Following these modifications, the total runtime of Devara: Part 1 now stands at 177 minutes and 58 seconds.
