Ganesh Chaturthi: Anant Ambani Donates 20kg Gold Crown To Lalbaugcha Raja

Ganesh Chaturthi is almost here, and we cannot keep calm for the festivities to begin. Mumbai has already welcomed Bappa in a grand manner, and Mumbaikars are already waiting with bated breath to visit their favorite mandals.

Speaking of which, Mumbai's most famous and oldest pandal, Lalbaugcha Raja, saw a grand welcome and an even magnificent unveiling of the Ganesha idol. Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi 2024, Anant Ambani, has made a generous donation, leaving everyone in awe.

The entrepreneur, along with Reliance Foundation, donated a gold crown worth Rs. 15 crore to Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja. Anant Ambani has been associated with the Lalbaugcha Raja committee for over a decade.

Anant Ambani's generous donation to Lalbaugcha Raja

Mukesh Ambani's youngest son has been associated with Mumbai's infamous mandal's committee for the last 15 years through various initiatives. In fact, he is often seen attending various events of Lalbaugcha Raja during Ganeshotsav.

Additionally, Anant also attends the idol immersion (Ganesh vijsarjan) at the Girgaoun Chowpatty beach every year. Through the Reliance Foundation, the Ambani family has extended support to various health-related initiatives to the Lalbaugcha Raja committee.

It was earlier on Thursday evening when the first look of Lalbaugcha Raja's first look was unveiled, putting an end to devotees's much-awaited anticipation. The sight of Bappa dressed in maroon attire with intricate jewelry left the devotees awestruck.

Anant Ambani's previous initiatives for Lalbaugcha Raja

It was during the COVID pandemic lockdown when the committee faced a shortage of funds for social work. With an intention to help people suffering from the deadly virus, the Lalbaugcha Raja committee was lacking money.

That is when Anant Ambani stepped in and provided significant help to the committee. He, along with the Reliance Foundation, donated 24 dialysis machines for the committee's patient aid fund.

Due to his generous donations and devotion to Lord Ganesha, Anant has also been appointed as an executive advisor to the Lalbaugcha Raja committee.

With Ganesh Chaturthi starting on September 7, the festive vibes have already captured the city, having people all excited to welcome Bappa with open arms.

Lalbaugcha Raja, or "King of Lalbaug," was first commemorated in 1934, with the first idol being all dressed up in traditional attire for the festival. The Kanble family, who have been sculpting the idols since 1920, have been responsible for the idol's care and upkeep ever since.

Devotees can visit Lalbaugcha Raja to seek Lord Ganesha's blessing from tomorrow onwards.
