Rootho Na (Ankansha Bhandari Raghav Kaushik) : A hopefull pop ballad

RadioCity India

It is often said that the strongest relationships aren't the ones that don't show struggle, but the ones that work through them. This is the difficult and emotional crux of Akanksha Bhandari's latest single 'Rootho Na'. She collaborated with Raghav Kaushik who co-wrote the lyrics of the song and sang with Bhandari on the track.

Ankansha Bhandari is not only a talented indie singer-songwriter, but a familiar voice to anyone who's heard the September 2018 bollywood release 'Tere Liye' from 'Namaste England' where she collaborated with Atif Alim for the second time, the first being on the song 'Peh Gaya Khalara' for the movie 'Fukrey Returns'. Her career is studded with achievements from the over 500 live shows she's played to being featured on Spotifiy's Indian Indie playlist, her voice and songs have been long loved. Raghav Kaushik is no slouch either, starting with his debut release 'Khaare Raste' he has been consistently achieving high streams and lots of love for his self written one-of-a-kind style that allows him to collaborate with multiple artists and sing playback for several Hotstar and Netflix shows as well as 'Loop Laapataa' starring Tapsee Pannu .

The song is quiet and emotional, and the music video does a good job of breaking down those complex emotions. The music video, filmed in Ankansha Bhandari's home with both artists also acting as the troubled couple. Each shot beautifully tells the story of a couple who don't hear what the other is saying only to come together in the end, realising that the love they have for each other is stronger than the feelings of anger. The song also balances the dynamic very well by managing to keep a light and hopeful tone despite the emotional and turbulent emotions of the song.

According to Akanksha Bhandari, she wrote Rootho Na back in 2021 when the relationships around her were facing difficult times but the song felt incomplete. She said that, 'That's when I reached out to Raghav (Kaushik) who came on board with not only his incredible vocals but also a beautiful set of lyrics which added another layer of emotion to this song'. Raghav Kaushik also stated 'It was an absolute delight working with Akanksha on 'Rootho Na'. She has created a song for the ages and our voices just blended seamlessly, creating pure magic. I hope the inherent warmth of this song reaches out to every listener out there.' While the music video will be out on Akanksha Bhandari's official Youtube Channel soon, you can stream the song across multiple streaming platforms like spotify and youtube music.
