Raid 2 clash with Hit 3
Raid 2, one of the most anticipated sequels, will finally hit the theatres on May 1 after keeping fans waiting with bated breath for the past seven years. The sequel will see Ajay Devgn revive his role as the honest income tax officer, Amay Patnaik. He will get into an intense face-off with politician Dada Bhai, played by Ritiesh Deshmukh.
With the movie`s advance booking already garnering eyeballs, Raid 2 will be facing competition from Nani`s Hit 3: The Third Case and Suriya`s Retro. All three movies will be released on May 1.
However, the makers remain unfazed by this massive box office clash. Producer Bhushan Kumar opened up on the same and explained why he believes Ajay Devgn`s thriller drama will surpass the two South Indian films.

In a candid chat with News18 Showsha, the producer spoke about how he doesn`t consider Nani`s Hit 3 and Suriya`s Retro a `threat`. According to him, it`s only monstrous pan-Indian films like Pushpa that can rattle the box office.
“Barring the A++ films, like the franchise ones such as Pushpa, to date, there’s no parameter to check if these films have worked in the northern belt. I think that the market for Hindi-dubbed films is very limited for these specific films," Kumar explained.

What also contributes to his confidence is how the first instalment of Raid has already captured the northern market. Ajay Devgn`s and Riteish Deshmukh`s power-packed casting is yet another factor for the film to be a commercial success.
“I don’t think these films will pose any competition for us. Our film Raid 2 is getting about 4000 screens all across the country. We’re getting the best showcasing. So, I don’t think we’re facing any threat," he added.
Other producers back Raid 2
Another producer, Kumar Mangat Pathak, believes there`s enough scope for Raid 2 to thrive. He said, “All the films are targeting multiplexes, but humaare film ke shows ki kami nahi hai. But the shows for all films will be divided properly."
Pathak`s son, Abhishek Pathak, who also helmed Drishyam 2, added, “I don’t think it’s going to be a problem for any of the films because the market is massive. They’ve a certain market, and we’ve a certain market. For two or three films releasing on the same day, it isn’t a problem these days. If a film starts doing well in terms of marketing and the trailer, people will choose it."
The upcoming political thriller drama features Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead. The movie will also see Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, and Amir Sial in prominent roles.
